One minute I’m giving birth, now I’m a mom to a happy toddler who’s turning three years old in a week’s time! I also remember just blogging about his second birthday and now, here I am again blogging about his birthday. His third this time. It only means that time flies when you are having fun. Little Johann is really becoming more and more independent, a very good thing actually. Oh my, soon he’ll be going to regular school and I’ll be attending PTA meetings…

Three

We’ve been going to additional occupational therapy sessions these past few months to ensure that Johann will have minimal developmental delays as much as possible. It’s not a walk in the park and it still isn’t, but we are very optimistic that three is a magical year for us. Johann is a talented boy, he is such a happy child. I am so proud of his achievements, big in his own terms! If I can give him all the things he needs I will, but I know that for his own sake, I have to be wise and prudent. Just as our own Father exercises His grand plans for us.

I am but Johann’s earthly mother, but I thank God for this opportunity to be his mom. I may not be perfect as a mother, but I am perfect for Johann, just as he is perfect for me. Happy birthday my baby boy. Mommy loves you so much.

Yep. That’s how powerful your words are. I learned that the hard way, and I’m still unlearning my belief system to program to this new one. When you’ve had 28 years of the same programming it’s hard to reformat to a new system just like that.

I don’t have experience beforehand of how to raise a child. I know our parents are there to guide us, and yes we are special, but I believe our child is unique. And although the general principles of parenting applies, I still get lost and scared. I feel we are not doing enough, worse, we are doing it wrong.

I do have an action plan though. I see light at the end of the dark tunnel. In this day and age, the internet opens up a lot of possibilities for our family. I will get better, heck, I’ll be the best mom! Now that our family blog is up, allow me to indulge in my wifey and mommy moments. Maybe one day, I can help others who are feeling the way I feel. And then we’ll all be the best parents our children can ask for.
